Merchandising agency Switzerland: shelf care, displays and AI photo checks

The shelf is where the sale is decided.

kyo is a merchandising agency in Switzerland. We plan, staff and train your merchandising work in all three language regions, and we employ the merchandisers in your stores ourselves. Our team maintains shelves to planogram, builds secondary placements and records every visit with photos in kyoX. The AI checks each photo in 3 to 4 seconds while the merchandiser is still in the store, and your dashboard shows every store and every shelf.

What we do

Planogram-compliant shelf care

Our staff put your planogram into practice: the right number of facings, correct positioning, price labels and expiry dates. Every visit is documented with before and after photos.

Secondary placements

Displays, promo areas, checkout placements: we build them up, keep them tidy and defend them. If a competitor takes your spot, you know the same day.

Stock monitoring

We check your stock on site and report replenishment needs directly to your trade manager. Missing stock is reported from the store while the merchandiser is still there.

POS material

Placing, checking and replacing promotional material: shelf stoppers, wobblers, floor stands or digital signage. At every visit we check that your material is in the right place and matches the current campaign.

Photo documentation

Timestamped photos of every visit, automatically sorted by store and shelf zone. Full transparency at a glance. Via kyoX every piece of documentation is organised and available anytime.

Store checks

We don't just look at your shelf, we look at your competitors' too. Price positioning, facing comparison, promo placements: systematically captured and included in your report.

The AI checks every photo while your merchandiser is still in the store.

Your merchandiser photographs the shelf or display with a phone, and the AI in kyoX checks the photo against your rules in 3 to 4 seconds. It marks gaps, crooked packs and material that does not belong on the shelf directly in the image. You describe your rules in your own words and with reference images, and there is no need to train it product by product.

In an internal kyoX analysis, 1 in 5 photos from experienced merchandisers and 1 in 3 photos from new merchandisers showed a mistake.

Frequently asked questions

Is kyo a merchandising agency or a staffing company?

kyo is both: we plan, staff, train and coordinate your merchandising work like an agency, and we employ the merchandisers ourselves, licensed under the Swiss Recruitment Act (AVG) and following the staffing collective agreement (GAV). You have one fixed contact person, and photos and reports run through our own platform, kyoX.

Does kyo also offer full-service merchandising?

Yes, together with our sister agency PROMOKANT, which is also a merchandising agency and handles merchandising as a full service: concept, POS material, logistics, project management and execution. kyo provides the trained staff and steers the work in kyoX, so you get everything from one source.

Which agency handles merchandising across all of Switzerland?

kyo handles merchandising in German-speaking Switzerland, Romandy and Ticino, at Coop, Migros, Denner, Manor, Globus and other chains. For Dreame we look after the brand areas in more than 400 stores of eight chains in 23 cantons and in Liechtenstein. Every visit is documented with a GPS check-in and before and after photos.

How does the AI photo check work in merchandising?

Your merchandiser photographs the shelf or display with a phone, and the AI in kyoX checks the photo against your rules in 3 to 4 seconds. It marks gaps, crooked packs or material that does not belong on the shelf directly in the image. The mistake is fixed while the merchandiser is still in the store.

How often should merchandising be carried out?

It depends on your category and sell-through speed. High-rotation FMCG: weekly to biweekly. Slow movers or seasonal products: monthly is often enough. We analyse your range and your shelf presence and recommend a frequency that makes commercial sense, not simply the maximum.

Which retail chains does kyo cover?

Coop, Migros, Volg, Denner, Manor, Globus, Lidl, Aldi, Spar and other formats across Switzerland. German-speaking Switzerland, Romandie and Ticino included. We know the store structures and contacts.

How do we receive the reports from field visits?

Via kyoX. After every visit, our team logs photos, checklist and status updates. We check the inputs, then you see everything in your dashboard. You can filter by store, region or date and export reports directly.

What happens if a planogram violation or out-of-stock is found?

Our merchandiser documents the finding immediately with photo and timestamp in kyoX. After our check, you see it in your dashboard. No waiting for the weekly report.

Can you also monitor competitors at our shelf?

Yes, that's part of our standard store-check offering. We capture facing count, price positioning and promo placements of the competitors you define, in the same stores, on the same visit. You see shelf competition as it really is.

What does merchandising cost in Switzerland?

We calculate per project, and the price depends on the number of store visits, region and travel times, the scope per visit (shelf maintenance, secondary placement, photo documentation) and frequency. Billing is transparent and all-inclusive. Send us the store list and tasks and you receive a quote within 24 hours, free and without obligation.

How quickly can you provide merchandising staff?

For short-notice actions and secondary placements we provide staff within 24 to 48 hours, thanks to our own pool. For ongoing coverage with a fixed visit rhythm we plan the cycle together with you and deploy the same merchandisers per region where possible.
